Naked Raku + Wire
This raku sculpture draws from the mythic presence of Elen of the Ways—an ancient guardian of wild paths, thresholds, and the unseen routes between worlds. The figure appears weathered and softened, as though shaped as much by time and environment as by hand. Her surface carries the marks of smoke, fire and erosion, echoing a body that has existed for ages within the forest—absorbing its stillness, its decay and its quiet resilience.
The horned form and exposed posture suggest both protection and vulnerability, a being neither fully human nor fully divine. The circular void beneath her becomes a symbol of passage: a hollow shaped by absence, movement, and return. This work is less about representation and more about presence—an offering to the idea of ancient femininity as something enduring, patient and deeply rooted in the land.
She is not untouched by time. She is made powerful by it.
