They warned against picking the bluebells, against stepping too far into the woods when the air grew still.

But she did not listen. Or perhaps she listened too closely. The flowers took root in her hair, the shadows in her eyes.

Now she watches, half-feral, half-forgotten—keeper of paths no one dares follow.
